The Gelatissimo story began in 2002 where their first store opened on King Street in the heart of Sydney. Word of mouth spread and before long, there were queues out the door! Gelatissimo is all about creating an authentic family-friendly experience that makes people smile, and it all begins with their delicious gelato. Brothers and joint CEOs, Domenico and Marco Lopresti managed to take their small family business and turn it into an international success. The passion for making quality gelato had been ingrained in the guys since they worked for their father’s gelato bar in Crows Nest in the early nineties when the family learnt how to make gelato from their cousins from South Italy. After their father sold the bar, the new owners decided that they’d like to continue ordering their gelato, and a wholesale gelato business was born as new customers came on board. 17 years later, and with a bit of Italian passion and a determination to make their product stand out against their competitors, Gelatissimo has managed fantastic growth both here and overseas since its inception in 2002.
